D’Tigers will be aiming to secure qualification for 2021 Afrobasket tournament next year with a second win in Group D when they face hosts Rwanda at the ongoing qualifiers in Kigali, Saturday PUNCH reports.
The 2015 African champions are unbeaten against Rwanda having defeated the host twice at the 2018 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
D’Tigers began their campaign with a 76-56 victory over South Sudan on Thursday and will be desperate to secure one of the three places in Group D for next year’s FIBA AfroBasket against Rwanda who lost 70-64 to Mali in their opening game.
Hosts Rwanda have already qualified for the tournament.
Mike Brown’s side won three of the four quarters with Caleb Agada leading the D’Tigers with 16 points and Ike Iroegbu churning in 13 points respectively.
They face Mali in their final group game on Sunday.
