Iwobi Shines, Ndidi, Iheanacho In Action As Everton Beat Leicester

Alex Iwobi was in action for Everton and gave a good account of himself in their 2-0 win at Leicester City, in Wednesday’s Premier League clash.

Also in action were Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho with the later coming on in the second half.

Everton opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Richarlison who cut inside and hit his effort into the bottom corner from outside of the penalty area.

And in the 72nd minute, Everton doubled their lead thanks to Mason Holgate who reacted first in the crowded penalty area.

The win took Everton to 5th on 23 points while Leicester are 4th on 24 points.

At the Emirates 10-man, Arsenal forced Southampton to a 1-1 draw to avoid a fifth straight home defeat.

Southampton took the lead in the 18th minute as former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott collected a through pass and dinked it over Bernd Leno.

Arsenal were back on level terms in the 52nd minute off Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who curled the ball into the bottom corner after a brilliant build-up play by Bukayo Saka and an Eddie Nketiah assist.

Ten minutes later Arsenal were reduced to 10 men after Gabriel was sent off for a second yellow for a foul on Walcott.

Arsenal stay 15th on 14 points and Southampton in third position on 24 points in the league table.

And at Elland Road Leeds United thrashed Newcastle United 5-2.
