A Nigerian man has placed his two cents on the issue of payment of bride price in African marriages and has said that feminists must ensure it is abolished.
The man identified on Twitter as Wizebaba revealed that payment of a girl’s bride price means she is just like a product sold in the market.
Wizebaba held the view that such tradition must be fought against because it is fostering the sale of women and stressed that is necessary in order to strike a balance of gender.
He tweeted;
I think Feminists should fight very hard to eradicate Bride price. It simply means the female child is been sold out like a product in the market.
